Boarding Activities

      & Updates

These are updates on just a few of our boarders. Every so often I will post updates on various dogs and cats as I find time. Enjoy!

March 8, 2010

What a beautiful weekend! The girls took full advantage of the glorious weather and got some great snapshots of the pups. The weekend boarding crew was made up of the largest "gets along with everyone" crew we've had in a long time. That said we were able to get a HUGE crew out on Saturday & Sunday.

Paddy is new to us and is having a fantastic time. The only problem is Leslee does not share well with others and my daughter, Delaney, had to beg to play with Paddy! What a love!

Abby had a great time showing new buddies the ins and out of playing in the big yard. She says "Hi Mom and Dad, miss you, I'm am having a great time!!"

Milo and Flyer have been inseparable since Flyer arrived. They are like the dynamic duo.

Henry came to Jo with a problem- "I've been slimed can you help me out?"

"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!" And then he was gone, off to be slimed again.

Hermione gives Summer the once over and Summer passes the test.

The next pics will give you an idea of just how much fun was had in the yard this weekend. We hope you enjoy them.

March 4, 2010

Abby now reigns supreme in our office, at least for a little while before she trips over herself in her quest to get to day care!!! She nearly pulled Veronica's arm off trying to get to her friends next door!

Chillin' in the office on my own bed with a great toy!

"Will you play with me, please?"

                                "Come on Veronica! Let's go!!"

Peaches and Hermione have also been visiting in the back hallways and are just loves. Will try to get pictures, but that would mean I have to stop cuddling them!

Mr. Milo, our handsome fuzz ball, couldn't be easier. His buddy, Bailey, went home, but he's excited to play with Henry S. and Charlie this morning. He says that he hopes the weather in Hawaii is better than this stuff!

Cooper, our dalmation buddy, couldn't be a better diplomat for his breed and reminds me of Andie, our old dalmation (Cooper's better though!). He is just super - gets along beautifully with others, is well-behaved, and cuts well with scissors (LOL!!).

And Spring is definitely on its way. The boys, Betsy's son Nick and Ryan, who lives above the Day Care, decided that our puddles would be great for racing homemade boats. They are in a competition to see who can build the best boat. My hope is that the rain and the puddles dry up before they can race again!

March 2, 2010

Spring is on its way!!! Jo snapped this in the front yard. Phew! The end is in sight.

Misty and Lily wait patiently for Veronica to finish mopping so they can go for a walk. They are doing so well and love the extra special attention they get! (Notice no one else is in the kennel at this moment?!)

Meanwhile, Cooper enjoys playing with his buddies in Day Care and then coming back over to the kennel at night. Such fun!

Abby is also enjoying Day Care today. She takes enjoying to a new level!!!

I wonder if she'll enjoy her bath later today?  That would be a big YES!  Get a load of the color of the water! She wanted to say a hearty "hello" to Mom and Dad and tell them camp is great and that she hopes it's warming up down in Florida.

Yet another boarder enjoying the day in day care is Tobey, who would be lost without a ball!

Back in the kennel, Milo was a huge help today preparing breakfast for everyone. First, he picked out food for everyone.

Then, he fixed everyone's dishes as required!

After an exhausting shift on the breakfast line, Milo decided to meet Hugga, the cranky kennel cat!

In other kennel news, Sophie and Newton are back again! Yeah!

Cue, Jessie, and Patch are just too cute together. Cue scoots in and gives stealth kisses, while Jessie's bum gets movin' around so much that you think she is going to fall over! And Patch always acts a little aloof, but will move in to get more loving if you dare to move your hand away!

more to come in just a bit - Carrot is outside with a big crew playing...

Oh what a crew I just had the pleasure of playing with!  Sophie, Newton, Rudy, Captain, Peaches, Hermione, Merlin and Sampson.  Here a few pics of our outing...

Rudy (the white ball of fluff) is very smart when it comes to playing with the big kids.  He keeps his distance, then pounces into the fray, all the while knowing that he could out-run any one of them if he had to!

February 26, 2010

Such a glorious day! We got a pass on the huge storm that has pummeled everyone else and are enjoying 40 degree sunshine!

And, I got to play with the dogs this morning - how can the day start better than that?

Artey, Indi and I all ran a bit. Artey got a little excited and started his bull-terrier excited nipping and jumping. Amazing how high he jumps on those little legs.

Gambit, Sparky and Brady all ran around for awhile, leaping over each other, tugging on one another, chasing, tackling, generally being boys!

Gambit and I had a little snuggle session too - such a love!

                               First, Brady tackles,

                                  then tries the fur tug.

Gambit prefers loving to all that wrestling!

Peaches and Hermione enjoyed a fast run, racing each other to the end of the yard and back a few times before sniffing all around.

"When do we get to go???"

Jules is just heading out with Jackie, a Bouvier! If she's able to get some pictures I will add them tomorrow.

Other goings on today:

Honey, our resident Golden, got a nice tubby from Leslee.

Misty & Lily wait patiently for their walk

While Milo and Bailey say, "Aren't we cute? Can we join the fun?"

February 25, 2010

Some updates on some of our boarders:

Betsy thinks Gambit "is just a cutie!" and reports that he is doing great!

Sparky and Brady are now "regulars" and they always enjoy their visits! Playing with the other kids, getting some special love from the girls. Who could ask for more?

Bailey U. and Milo have become BFFs (Best Friends Forever, for those of you not up on the texting lingo of today. I'm not really either, but oh well!). Both truly have fun together. Milo actually prefers his buddies over us! We had him hanging in the back hallway and our offices and he kept going back to the kennel. Very funny!

Brandy M. is doing and we sense that we may have a new cutie couple with Indy and Abbie P. Love is in the air as spring approaches!

February 18, 2010

My apologies for the delay in boarding updates, but what a week it has been! We hope everyone has enjoyed their vacations; we sure have enjoyed your four-legged kids! As always, thanks for sharing them with us.

Brutus and Buddy race around the yard. We make sure not to get in

their way - we would just be a mere speed bump on the way to their

   destination!

Our new friend April introduces herself to Magic.  She's 14 years old, never boarded anywhere before and did just as well as some of our "frequent fliers" do.  I think it helped that she made such a good friends with her beagle buddy Magic.

Newcomer Jesse runs to see what Crosby is up to.

Bella is hot on her heels!

Sierra hangs in the back hall with us, getting the

special treatment older gals like her deserve!

Hildie, our beautiful girl, loves her special one-on-one time, as does Wilson. Both are doing great! Cinnamon continues to enjoy her yard time, and  gets bigger every time we see her! She started with us as just a puppy, a big one, but just a babe, so it's fun seeing her fill out and grow up.

Nick and Mack are next door with their buddies Mackenzie and Baker. Our day care crew has just as much fun boarding as they do in day care.

February 16, 2010

Bailey enjoys a game of fetch with her buddies Milo, Gambit, Sandy, and Bella.

Our other resident Bailey tells Ginger, "Last one to the ball is a rotten egg!"

Chester prefers the "slow and steady wins the race" form of exercise to Boswell's "run and pass out" method.

Artey continues to rule the roost, hanging out with his friend, Carrot.

He LOVES the Fire Plug toy - so do we because it is

                               virtually indestructible!

Gabe says, "We were just in the middle of a snooze and

you woke us up for pictures?!! Fine, our press is

                             always hounding us!"

"Would you prefer the tummy look or my side view?"

February 14, 2010                 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!

Lily says "hello" to Nelson. She was a great tour guide

and got him settled in in no time.

Henry works on his herding with Barney. (I don't think

Barney knew he was being herded - he's such a happy-go-lucky guy).

This was one fast-paced game of tag with Cali, Gambit, Bella and

Noah. It went on for about 20 minutes until...

                      Noah crashed.  End of game.

February 12, 2010

A BEAUTIFUL day here! It is nice and warm and the sun has us all wagging our tails!

Crosby and Kona are very funny in the yard, enjoying themselves soooo much that they play deaf when it is time to go in!

"Who? Us??? You can't possibly be calling us to come in!"

Cinnamon, Maggie and Sadie Mae enjoyed a girls' romp together. Cinnamon and Maggie area lso bunk mates right now, but love having the company of Sadie Mae.

                                             the girls

Henry, Foxy, Max, Budda, Diddo, part of our small dog crew, were joined by Barney and Nelson. Barney and Nelson are great diplomats representing the bigger dog crew.

Henry loves his Foxy!

Scout and Artey found love in the air (Scout actually sent Artey a super cute Valentine this week when she found out he was in).

Dax and Quark are back for another visit - we are very excited to have them again! Miss Zorro though! Can't wait to see him again!

Maddy is sitting in my lap as I type. She is still a bit nervous, but loves being with us! Her training is a work in progress, but I think the more comfortable she gets being in the kennel, the better she will do!

Maddy knows where the treats are!!!

Rovie says, "Oh, come scratch me please!"

February 11, 2010

Oh, what a crew we have! Carrot (a.k.a. Kirsten) decided she needed a break from office stuff and took a group out to play this afternoon.

Artey and Ruby play in the snow

no trick photo here - Milo looks like he is getting

ready to donkey-kick! But in reality, Milo would never do that!

Barney, King of the Ball Fetch

Nick says, "Oh, I'm a happy, happy dog!"

Sophie and Newton are exasperated and

want the camera to stop so they can go play!

February 8, 2010

Everyone is doing just great! Rovie and Puss-Puss and Meek-Meek are doing wonderful in the kitty room. Puss-Puss loves to purr when we come in to say hello!

Our boy, Artey, came in yesterday, and loves to pull us around. Whenever we need Carrot, we just have to find Artey and she is right there with him.

Tank, Max M., and Ruby are all just great!

Joining us today: Mr. Milo, Angus & Munson, and Foxy - yeah! While Maddy is joining us for a two-week board and train. Can't wait!

February 5, 2010

Our girl, Bella, came in yesterday and is already enjoying her time with her pals in day care. We tell her all the time that her mommy loves her. (We also tell her how much WE love her too!!!). Because she loves day care so much, there are more pics of her in day care than in boarding.

Lots of regulars coming in today. Quark and Dax, Rovie the cat, and Ruby. Tank is also coming in today. Should be a fun weekend here!

February 4, 2010

Baron and Gala get some loving from Carrie during their playtime.

Hunter and Barney have joined Gala and Baron for some Golden romp time.  Buddah and Ditto say, "Carrie, will you throw the ball for me?"

Leslee's dogs, Boone and Lakota, are with us while Leslee has some time away! Boone loves Carrot and seeks her out for some ear rubs!

Neesa is going tomorrow - so sad! She is such a love. We will certainly miss her.

Lily and Misty, also part of our Golden crew, are having fun. They prefer private play times to the group sessions and are really enjoying each other's company.

Kai, Jake and Nikki, the boys (all from different families) round out our small crew of boarders today.

February 3, 2010

It's a lovely day for a romp in the yard.  Gala, Nikki, and Kai are having a blast out here in the snow.  Nikki loves his time in the snow. He loves to snack on it while he walks.

February 2, 2010

Miss Honey, who is actually residing in day care because of all the attention she gets, is doing beautifully. For those of you who don't know her, stop by and introduce yourself, but please, no cookies! Her tummy is a bit finicky when she gets too many.

Colby takes extra special care of her when he is here, walking her around the yard and making sure she gets lots of love.

This is the face that can earn a thousand cookies!!!

Wonder when this groundhog will ever not see his shadow so we can enjoy an early spring?!!

The weather is more mild today though, so  we got to play, play, play!

Sparky and Brady went out with Neesa, Sophie, Newton and Barney. Sparky seemed to find Neesa quite attractive, if you know what I mean!

Sophie and Newton bounced around trying to get everyone to play with them (and I do mean bounced!). Barney just wanted to play ball, but was quite the gentleman when Neesa also wanted to play and took off with his ball! She is very spry for an old girlie!

Baron and Gala are on their way out to the yard as I type. Neesa is already whining to be back with us, her humans! Definitely spoiled and we've had a blast doing it!

Kai says, "If I stand here

looking so shy, will you take me out too?"

                               Sparky wants to know when

he gets to see Neesa again!

Such a fabulous group in the kennel right now - we may ALL have to go out and have a group play time.

January 29, 2010

Jenny and Smugs had a GRAND time in the yard. Jenny does better every time she comes in. This visit was the best by far!

Look at that smile on Jenny's face!!!

Meek Meek and Puss Puss are settling in to the cat room. They are the only ones in right now, so they rule the roost!

Baker and MacKenzie and Raffles and Wrigley transition beautifully between boarding and daycare. Both sets of siblings are hilarious to watch as they try to engage the other in play.

We loved our quick visits from our friends Peaches and Hermione and Hoolie! Always great to see our regulars regularly!

January 28, 2010

Very sad that Jacky left today. He is a cutie and we loved having him.

Great playtime today in the yard (when don't we have fun in the yard?!) with Baron and Gala, Sophie and Newton, Nikki, and Phoenix. Lots of romping, ball chasing and love.

Jenny and Smugs are doing great, as are Gunny and Trinity. They will all be going out in the yard as soon as everyone returns from lunch breaks.

Dax is done with her meds for the most part and she is eating!

Henry has a great first night and is out for the day with family.

We are working on Sam's tummy troubles, but other than that he is doing great!

Presley is showing great strides and is affectionate with us. Apollo, Macey, and Henry are also doing fine. Henry loves having Apollo around and even showed a little bit of jealousy when Jules would pat Presley during their play time in the yard. They also enjoy their walks.

Fig is super energetic and loves going for walks. Fig really enjoyed seeing the collie with her owner on the bike trail. Is there any dog that Fig doesn't want to play with?

You'd never know Phoenix is a first-time boarder - we are having a blast together!

Isabelle, our feline boarder, is a love sponge. We can't walk by without slipping into the cat room to play with her.

January 27, 2010

Our friend Neesa may just be getting a bit spoiled - she now barks whenever we walk into the kennel, saying, "Hellllloo? When do I get to be in the back halls with you guys?"

Do you think the cookies have anything to do with that???!

Isabelle loves snoozing in the sun

Neesa and Jacky introduce Phoenix to the yard.

January 23, 2010

Elton is hanging out with Nikki and Luna, while Jacky and Boogie keep each other company. They were curled up on the blanket together until I came in and interrupted a nap.

Lola decided that Pal is aptly named, but he is wondering when she will stop talking his ear off about those darn Jets! :)

Lulu and Kaci came in from pet-sitting for a run in the yard and some nice baths so they are tired and clean for their folks tonight.

Kirsten plays ball with Lulu and Kaci

Everyone else is doing just great!

January 22, 2010

Oh boy, is the sunshine nice! It almost feels like spring, even though I know it is too early.

Jacky joined us recently and is such a love! He is from the south, so a jacket is a must!

Agnes and I try to make Jacky feel comfortable.

Boogie,Agnes, and Jules join in the loving!

Dax and Quark went for their walk with Veronica and were tuckered!

Jules and I took a fun, ball-loving group out in to the yard and we all ran like crazy! Lots of Sams in the group, so it made it funny!

Sam, Sam, Sampson and Moguls wait patiently for the ball!

Henry, Sampson and moguls wonder, "Which way did it go?"

Sampson, Sam and Sparky kick up the dirt with their speed.

Nikki and Sparky have a planning session, while Sam and

                                      Sampson keep going!

Bruin and Jasmine stick together, even while ball searching!

Bobby Ray, Clara, Tallulah, and Harry came in today and have settled in nicely. I could just crawl right in with Clara, she is soo cute!

I tried to get a picture of Daisy on her walk, but boy, can she book!!

January 21, 2010

Dax and Quark LOVE the yard and the ball. Dax ate beautifully today! Yeah!

Sam, Sampson and Moguls - the Labrador Amigos - had a great time in the yard today with the ball and the Chuck-It. After that, Jasmine and Bruin, who were singing up a storm, had their turn in the yard. The sun and warmer weather are really nice.

It's lab central here!!!

Henry said, "Please throw the ball for me over and over and over again!!"

Agnes says, "This yard is so big - I love tearing around with

my friend!

Kyla and Agnes smooch and sniff

Nikki and Cash went for such nice long walks on the bike trail with Carrie, while Tess had a morning in the spa, complete with a mani-pedi. Neesa continued to patrol, expanding her horizons to the yard duty too. Boogie and Lola spent next door at day care, discussing who might win the Super Bowl.

Neesa on patrol

January 19, 2010

Dax is eating and doing well. She and her brother went for a nice walk today.

Jasmine and Bruin ran around together in the yard. Bruin does this hilarious leg lift thing when you scratch his rear end!

Becky goes home today and we think she knows it! Very happy and hyper, doing a little dance!

Sam had a nice walk today with Carrie, as did Nikki. It's a good thing they are both such nice dogs; Veronica and Carrie both encountered someone walking their dog on the bike trail unleashed and very curious about both dogs.

Neesa rules the back hall, patrolling with Hugga, the kennel cat. They each keep to their respective ends of the hall though, so we are covered!

Lola the bulldog says to root for the Jets!(Of course, she has connections on that one!) But Betsy, our receptionist, says to root for the Colts. Football is a hot topic here!

January 14, 2010

Neesa, Boogie and Nikki are the only ones left over here after everyone boarding headed over to day care. Nikki has a funny case of the hiccups. All three are hanging out in the back hall and our offices. None of them are really too sure of Hugga, nor does he really love them. They keep guarding his food! But the trio is just great! They might prefer it if all the other boarding dogs stay over in day care!!!

"Just making sure you girls are alright," Boogie says.

Boogie thinks the halls make a great place to play fetch!

Neesa and Hugga keep a wary eye on each other

December 26, 2009

Great Christmas! So much fun just to be with the girls all day. More outside fun.

                                           WOOHOO!!!!

December 20, 2009

SNOW STORM FUN!!!

A huge group went out today to run like wild beasts through the snow. Such fun!!!!! Follow the leader, snow burrowing, snow angels, eating snow, gosh, we didn't want to go in!

the little dogs worked hard out there!!
