What a gorgeous day it is out there, and boy do we have quite the crew to enjoy it. We are welcoming some back from their vacations, welcoming old clients with new dogs, and old clients with old dogs that are trying day care for the first time. Phew, that was a mouthful! Enjoy the pics!
Zeus thinks a breath mint is in order for Molly.
Porter is new to the mix. His new family has been a client for years and we look forward to getting to know Porter. By the looks of things he is going to fit in just fine.
Zabette is having the best time playing ball with everyone. Porter wants in on the action too.
Hunter is introducing himself to Cosmos. Hunter is a very outgoing little guy and has already made himself right at home.
We are so happy to have Charlie back from vacation, we all really missed him!
Between Tug, Barnacle, Griffin, Jackson, Tucker, Captain, Merlin and Abby there were goldens, goldens everywhere!
It wouldn't be a Monday if Molly didn't tell us all about her weekend.
A few more scenes from the yard we thought you'd enjoy.

Yesterday's weather has passed and we are enjoying the puddles left over! Have a big crew from boarding visiting today and have quite a few new friends to hang out with.
'
Baker and McKenzie smell something interesting!
Colby and Georgia are so good and pose for their picture,
they are such good siblings!
Jasper plays a bit of ball while Sparky is a blur of motion
Asa thinks that if he stays very,
very still they won't notice me!
"TMI! TMI!" Marley says after Cody shares a secret with him.
Ollie swears he didn't eat the gumball! "See, look!"
Bella says to Ziggy, "You can't catch me! "
Jazz enjoys his second day much better
without the rain from yesterday!
Jake stays silent, while Cassie tells her side!
Cooper wonders about the camera lens
need we say more???

Some pictures of today's crew out and about. Balls, puddles, slides, and more. Always a fun day at day care!

A super day was had by all until the yucky weather arrived. Then it was a
mad rush for the bathtub to see who won the dirtiest dog award for the day. That honor goes to Ziggy. (The picture below really does not do "His Muddiness" any justice.)

We hope everyone enjoyed their vacations over February break. Lots of fun here. It was so great to be open for day care during a major holiday! Yeah to our new building next door!
Tobey, Jake, Ollie, and Cassie waste no time getting back to action with
a fast paced game of "Keep Away."
We're not quite sure what was so interesting here, but gosh the boys and Cassie sure did find it fascinating!
Diddo gets ready for a slide. Couldn't get her off of it today! FYI: she and her brother Buddah are looking for homes. Inquire at the front desk.
Ollie, after the now famous game of "Keep Away," wants to know what's next on today's agenda.
Agnes and Smeagol both agree that, "They are a little crazy in that big yard."
Paddy thought about going out with the big kids but he prefers to hang on to his ball all day long and pretend he's playing with everyone else!

Mud! Enough said! Oh, and lots of fun too!!
"You can't catch me!"
Shayna is sooo excited to see her friend, Bella, in the other yard. "Come play with me!" she exclaims.
For our day care owners who know Miss Honey, here she is resting after the morning rush! It is a tough job being the official greeter!
Tuesday, February 9, 2010
Congrats to Amy for coming closest to completing our day care match up game!! She has won herself $10 off day care for Cassie!! Stay tuned for our next contest/game. Thanks for playing!!!

We're getting ready for Vancouver!!!! :)
Today's Events: Heavy-Weight Wrestling, High Ball Catch, Junior Stick Team, and Luge
The Heavy-Weight Wrestlers were practicing their moves today. Looks like Raffles has his pins down. His brother, Wrigley works hard from underneath trying to gain some ground.
Coach Charlie is watching his High Ball Catch team as they practice.
Tobey snags a great catch here. He sure does love his tennis balls!
Bella and Snickers walked the luge course today. The teammates seemed happy with the course, hoping for some fast times. Snickers says, "It's a steep slope and really let's you gain speed."
Asa asks, "Is it luge or lounge? I'm really good at lounging!!"
Pinocchio emerges from the club house on his first day hoping to get a good view of the day's activities.
Koto, a star on the US Stick Team is also coach of the junior team. Here she watches Bella checking her technique. Harley has been practicing with the junior sticks. Koto says, "We'll be seeing great things from this young boy in the future!"

Another chilly day! Am I the only one counting down the days till spring? By the way its 43. So, cold or not we still had a full house of happy playful pups. A warm welcome to Prada, who started her first day off with Marley. He was a real gentleman while teaching her the ins and outs of the play yard. It was nice to see Brady come in on the bus today after a little winter break. Beau came back in with his brother Lee, he's settling into the pack nicely. He and his brother are definitely 2 peas in a pod, 2 jumping beans that is bouncing around the yard! Little Cassie came in to visit her friends in the small yard. And Lacey came in and played with Ziggy, Stella and Lucy along with Cassie (that's big Cassie). There was a lot of wrestling and rolling around going on out there with them. And of course many of our regular faces were there in the crowd. Jackson, Griffin, Abby, and Chester were a few of the Goldens in the crew. Zabette, Sparky and Nellie added some color to the yellow palette of labs and Goldens that made up most of the yard. And some of our day care families took advantage of our spa getting their puppies clean and smelling good for the up and coming super bowl parties. Remember, 3 days of regular day care or only 2 days of day care with bus service and a bath is only $15! And finally a fond farewell to Charlie who is leaving us for a month for the warmer climate of Florida! Have fun in the sun little man!!

Day Care Contest! The first one to get everyone correctly matched wins a free day of day care! The second and third place prize is half-off of day care. This particular contest ends Tuesday, Feb. 9.
How well do you know your daycare buddies? Match the names with the faces and see! And yes, there are 3 different Bellas in those pictures! Results will be posted in the daycare office. Good Luck!

Olympic training continues:
With the Olympics only days away some serious training was going on. The big yard was host to the time trials for Yard Racing. Tucker looks like a strong contender, beating Cassie by a shoulder's length.
Coach Charlie watches Tucker from the sidelines, pleased with his performance.
Later, in the Ball Fetch, Cassie was on top of her game, though Molly was looking strong as well. The veteran, Beau, will have to keep an eye on these two.
Meanwhile, in the small yard the athletes are vying for a spot on the US Stick Team. First up, a match between Fig and Koto. Koto grabs the stick early, makes a lap around the igloo and then makes it to higher ground. Match one goes to Koto.
Coach Ryley comforts Fig with a pat on the shoulder, "Good job. We'll get her next time." And with that Fig heads back for another round.
Match two goes to Fig!
The toughest match of the day was between Koto and Cosmos. Cosmos held the majority of the stick through out the match, securing his place on the team.
And your US Olympic Stick Team is... Captain - Cosmos, Koto, Fig and Macey. Coached by Coach Ryley.
And a special welcome to Harley, our new 4 month old day care puppy! Very interested in the camera!

Valentine's Day really must be around the corner, because there was some love in the air today! Some raucous play, some french smooches, some playing in the sheets, we saw it all today!
Hmm...don't even know where to go with this one!
Rudy and Paddy play tug-of-war
Bella is like the Gerber baby of dogs!
Bella May in her beautiful, brindle self!
Macey knows that Smea isn't supposed to be doing that!
can't you just hear Cassie's groans and happy noises?!
Summer isn't sure she wants to do what Shelby is suggesting!
Tobey swears there is a ball in here!

Here's Bacon, our Tail of the Month, at day care,
being a bit bashful!
Ziggy tells Bacon he's got something in his teeth
"Here, let me get that piece of spinach out of your teeth"
"Honestly, we're not up to anything. Just a bit of spin-the-bottle."

With today's warmer weather we left the door's open and came and went as we pleased. The dogs love the freedom of going in and out at their own discretion. Ryley (a Bichon) decided he was going to be a big dog today, while Koto and Mackenzie (a Staffordshire Terrier and a black Lab) yard- hopped between the big dog yard and the small dog yard.
The big yard was ruled by the Labs and Goldens today, 9 in total (and that's not including our mixes). As always a good game of "Jolly Ball" was in play through out most of the day, along with tag, racing and wrestling.
The small dogs turned their snuggle blanket into a rope for a game of tug-of-war. After much heaving and hoing they agreed on a 3 way tie between Koto, Cosmos (a Bicha-Poo) and Bella (a Puggle). And as the rain set in in the afternoon many of the pups meandered in to snooze and snuggle. By 3 o'clock it looked like nap time at a kindergarten class and sounded as quiet as a library. But peace and quiet doesn't last for long around here and one by one they woke up and stretched. The lazy ones got nudges from friendly noses that it was time for a last romp before getting picked up.

What a fun crew today! Muddy, but fun. And way chillier than it seemed once you were out there for awhile, so we'd go out, then come in, go out, then come in. It worked great.
Tucker & Ryley play house
Baker, Hunter, Tucker and McKenzie - just a blur!
Professional Stick Chewing
a close-up - just look at their technique!
Bandit watches intently, hoping to get in on the chewing
But just as quickly, the game changes to kickball.
look at that form - all three hit their mark at the same
time- talk about Synchronized Running!
Woody tells Griffin which team he's on
Raffles hopes someone will scratch his itch, while
Wrigley just hopes that ball moves for him!

I keep wanting to write 2009, so don't be surprised if I actually do it one day! The snow is gone!! While skating is over, we have moved on to a new sport: Puddling! Watch out Olympics - we have some athletes here to give you a run for your money in some real sports!
the brothers assess the puddle before they jump - a real
testament to their skills
Marley and Hanna watch from the sides, cheering on friends
some of the judges from the non-puddled small yard
spectators racing to get a good view from the fence
and on to the next event - Race Around the House
Nike says, "Best puddling I've done yet this year! Watch out Vancouver!"

While a bit rainy, the dogs enjoyed splashing in the puddles and chewing on sticks. This group shares their sticks so well - gold stars for all!!!
Molly is a bit wet, but no worse
for the wear!
"I know the ball is in here somewhere..."
"See, we start with a good sized stick..."
"Then we all work a bit on it..."
"And then, voila! The stick is gone! "

"Aren't we just the cutest?"
the siblings hang together!

Sunshine, snow and happy dogs!
It was a beautiful winter day and plenty of pups came out to play. Lola turned her normal game of ball into a combo hockey/soccer game. She slipped and slid all around the yard chasing her ball. Maudie, Shelby and Summer led a race of speedy pups around the yard. Tobey had to dig out the tennis balls from the snow, but once his buddies saw how it was done, all the balls were quickly back in play (most still looked like snowballs!).
Thursday, January 7, 2010
Welcome to Betty Boop, new to day care today. She and Georgia got along famously. Riven and Hank romped in the snow together. And Jake and Gryphon played sticks.
Wednesday, January 6, 2010
Finley made it to the big yard today! The other dogs, Bandit, Sparky, and Tucker were wonderful ambassadors and introduced Finley to everyone.
"And this is where I hide bones sometimes."
"You will never catch me, boys!" Zabette laughs.
"I told you my mouth is bigger than yours!"

It may be cold outside, but that doesn't stop our crew! We saw some new and old faces join in the fun today.
Shayna, part of our summer crew, came back to play while on her holiday visit to the Cape. We sure have missed her!
Jasper joined us for the first time today. He quickly made friends with Charlie and is loving running around with friends!
Finley also came in today. There's plenty of him to go around! What a funny guy! Although it looks like he is all over Maggie, she loved romping and wrestling with him!
Little Miss Glory took the bus in for some romping and a spa treatment!
And of course, our regular crew who make us laugh on a regular basis. Boy our job is fun!
A special goodbye to Mattie, who is snowbirding in Florida this winter. We will see you in the spring!
Wednesday, December 23, 2009

YUCK!!!! It is pouring buckets of rain and it certainly feels colder than 50 degrees, but we are still having fun! 20 of us braved the weather and played outside and in (mostly in!).
Misty and Lily worked on socialization skills, while Koto learned how to share her "place" bed from training with others!!! Gryphon came over from boarding to romp with Summer, Maggie and the crew.
Bad weather can't stop us!!!
Tuesday, December 8, 2009
Lots and lots of fun today!
Zeus, Zander and Kyppa played in the back yard:
Ben, a newbie (a Petite Bassett Griffon Vendeen), was introduced to Smeagol. We are pretty sure that Ben was wondering the whole time, "What is this alien doing in here with me???"
In the big yard, Summer, Maggie, Lee, Jake, Merlin, Mamie and Murphy, Sam, Fig, Hank, Stella, and Lucy raced around, seeing who's the fastest!
In the smaller yard, Paddy and Charlie wrestled with Lilly, cracking Jo up!
Monday, December 7, 2009
Brrr....it's chilly today!!! Lots of coats came in and kept us toasty, but a lot of us stayed in just because it was warm.
Others of us decided to play outside figuring that romping keeps the blood flowing!
Tuesday, December 1, 2009
While we didn't host any games today, we had lots of playing! It is that time of year where we will be putting on those sweaters and jackets for our shorter-haired dogs. Dogs have the option of being indoors or out most of the day, so if you feel they will need the extra protection, send it along. Just remember that rips happen, so don't send the haute couture sweater or coat please!
Love knows no bounds!! Even fences
