Tobey & Taylor
It was just before the 4th of July 2009 when my husband saw an ad
in the paper "Shuh Tzu" for sale, although waiting for the fall seemed
like the best plan. However, these pups were at a home in Chatham
and not at a puppy mill./ What would a phone call hurt, with any luck
they would be ready to leave in Sept. To our amazement they were
ready to leave now. My dilemma was I was working for the summer
season. But I just had to see them. So when my husband came home
for lunch I asked if he wanted to take a ride to Chatham. He must of
known what i had on my mind. He said, "No," so I called my oldest son
to come with me, of I went with my son and his girlfriend. As soon as
they put the remaining 2 puppies in my arms there was no way I was
leaving without them! Both of them...one for my husband and one for
me. The owner thought we might be able to make an arrangement -
that maybe she would be able to keep them for me til Sept. when my
life would returned to normal. But as things go my son wouldn't hear of it. Between him and his girlfriend they said they would come and take the
pups out for walks. So home they came!

the litter
Upon my return home, my husband was working in the yard, he did not turn
around. He just asked "how many?" and with a smile he turned around.

Tobey and Taylor were 2 out of a litter of 5. Born April 29th 2009, they are tri color: white, blonde, and brown. I think Taylor was the runt of the litter.
Which doesn't mean anything because she tells Tobey what he can or can't do or even where to go. The owner had told me she taught the puppies to
not to bark. I thought that might not be a bad thing...once they got used
to us Taylor started barking while playing with Tobey.

After getting a book, All About Shih Tzu, they don't recommend getting 2
at the same time. I don't think I would have done it any other way. Housebreaking has been the biggest challenge of training, finally after 8 months we are getting the hang of it.
We are having so much fun with them. They rest when you rest. Yes...they
do chew on things that they shouldn't - they are very curious and active.
My family loves spending quality time with the pups.

Tobey and Taylor are inseparable where one is you will find the other!
They even let me dress them up! My niece will send all kinds of outfits
and I can't resist putting them on them. The pups don't mind.

During the big snow storm my husband had to snow blow a path around
the house so they had plenty of room to walk and play in the snow, which
they loved.

You can find Tobey and Taylor at the front door, seemingly guarding the house but really they just want visitors. they have lots of toys in their
basket and they play with all of them. I really wish they would learn how
to put them away.

We chose Nauset Kennels because they have a groomer and boarding
options in the event we ever had to leave them. We are so pleased with
the entire staff. Leslee, the groomer, has been awesome with them. They
get excited to see her and relax because they are in good hands. The staff
is welcoming and always happy to see the pups. The occasion Tobey and Taylor had to be boarded we felt like they were well cared for...like they
were part of the Nauset Kennel family. We extend a heartfelt thank you
for taking such good care of our "babies."
