About Us

Our staff is a special group of people

who love animals and recognize and

understand the work that love involves.

We are all dedicated to your pets.

It is not uncommon to find one of us

in the feeding room prepping meals

with a four-legged friend from the

kennel for company. It is also not

uncommon that many of our employees

end up adopting dogs who have

boarded with us and needed homes.

McLovin',Lori, Gilligan, Diddo,

Tucker and many others have

joined our home families. We fret over

who will make the best friend for

another pet and have even been

found on the floor hand feeding

a dog who is reluctant to eat. Many

times we will recognize a pet

well before we recognize the owner!

And while we can tell you all this here,

give us a chance to spoil and fuss over

your pet. We promise we will treat

your pet as we would our own.

KIRSTEN
As a child, Kirsten grew up with English Cocker Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, and English Setters. Having been raised at the kennel, it was only natural that Kirsten would take over the reins full-time in 1991. Her strong work ethic, customer service skills and an understanding of pets and their people can be credited to her parents, Joe and Dana.

NOELLE
Noelle started with us in 1993. She and Kirsten have two children, Delaney and Colby. Their other family members are Pecan, a Boston Terrier, Wicket, a French Bulldog, and Hoot, a tortoiseshell kitty.

JOANNE
Joanne joined us almost 10 years ago when she moved back to the Cape from a stint in Wisconsin. She has two kids, Ben and Chelsea. They have a menagerie that includes four dogs (Oscar, Scooby, Smeagol, & Diddo), two cats (Cami, and Fudge ), and a ferret. With so many of her own animals, it is a given that Jo loves being with your pets too.

Joanne is a pro at evaluating your dog and knowing who might be a good friend. She is very good at match-making!

VERONICA

Veronica joined Nauset Kennels in November of 2008 to continue her love for working with animals. She has been in the pet care industry for over seven years, including kennel work, grooming and pet-sitting.

She has two cats of her own, Tang and Chili, and adopted, Lori, our kennel dog who was looking for a home.

Veronica's sense of humor and ability to handle any task help us all stay sane and happy.

JULES

Jules joined us spring of 2009 and is a natural with animals. She adopted her dog, McLovin', from the kennel.

Jules loves to travel and even spent a year in Australia.

Jules's care for people and pets is evident every day. And she is dog crazy!

TARA

Tara joined us in day care during the spring of 2010. She is a native Cape Codder and even spent some time living on Nantucket Island. Tara lives in Provincetown with her Beagle, Annie, who is a 14 year old rescue girl.

We are thrilled to have her energy and her willingness to do whatever we ask of her! She is great with the customers and their pets.

AMANDA

Amanda started here as a summer employee back in 2009.  She left for a year to finish school at UMass Dartmouth and returned to us full time. Her spunky personality is always up lifting to her fellow employees and the dogs. Amanda lives with her Golden Retriever, Rosalita.

A true Golden girl at heart, Amanda has an affinity for puppies and oldies. She'll make sure your dog is happy and content during their stay here with us.

MARY

Animals have always been a huge part of Mary's life... from dogs, cats, ferrets and rats! She has a two year old daughter, Antonia, who is also in love with any kind of four-legged friend! In April 2011 she adopted Binya, a boxer/lab rescue that comes with her to daycare every day!

KENDRA

Kendra, originally from Maine has been visiting Wellfleet since she was a wee little lass. In July 2010 she decided to settle here for good with her boyfriend and 2 dogs, Nala and Shasta. She has always had an interest in animals and working with them.

HUGGA

Hugga joined us on Thurs. Nov. 26, 2009. He was left at the Animal Rescue League in Brewster and Dawn knew he would

be the right kitty for us! While a bit cantakerous at times, he lives up to his name and loves to wrap himself around a neck for love. Be careful, he has also been known to greet customers in their cars!!!
