Lewis

Lew. Goofy Lew. Almost three years old, 100 lbs. and all dog. He loves his friends at Nauset Pet Services daycare, both human and canine. Hugga the cat... not so much... Three days a week and sometimes more, Lew heads down to daycare from Brewster to romp, run, sleep and sniff a few... well, you know...

A "down-south" rescue dog, we have had an interesting time adjusting to and working with the energies, good and bad, of a dog seemingly left to his own devices for the first six months of life and then put in the system for the next six. What is it they say about dogs?... Given a chance to make a choice in a human world, they will probably make the wrong decision... If dogs had mottos, this would be Lew's.

The doggie shrink we were referred to by Boston Animal Rescue League said it would take at least two, maybe three years to get Lewis comfortable in his Cape Cod skin. I think we are on course to meet the goal. Lew's love of Nauset daycare has been a key factor in helping him find his inner Lewis.

Lew loves playing tuggy, eating frozen sweet potato fries, running really, really fast, chewing tuffy dinosaurs, sleeping in his bunk house and riding in the old red pickup truck on dump day. What's better than that?

Life is good.
